My Fantastic Floridian Family Staycation

After dropping our son at Camp Omni, we took a 10 second walk to our Sushi Rolling Class at ZEN, one of the 10 restaurants on property. We met two of the funniest and most seasoned sushi chefs around! Juan and Fu showed us the ropes in making delicious California Rolls, and before the restaurant even opened to the public.
Afterwards, we took our seats behind the sushi bar to be further entertained by the awesome chefs in action – and ordered up a bounty of Asian dishes including the CHAMPIONSGATE ROLL with seared escolar, tamago, avocado, wasabi ponzu, spicy mayonnaise and teriyaki and SUPER TUNA ROLL with tuna, cucumber and tuna tataki. We tried Juan's MEXICAN ROLL, made special for us, containing tuna, crema, cilantro and jalapeño.
The next morning, we went to Trevi's for a breakfast buffet with endless fruits, bacon, sausage, breads, muffins, cereal – and an omelett station. Afterwards, we took a tour of the facilities with Executive Sous Chef Enrique. He showed us the kitchens (yes, kitchens), banquet halls and new wing of the Omni Orlando where private weddings and conventions are held. It hasn't yet been 14 days since our stay and we all want to go back to Omni Orlando at Championsgate again! Maybe next time we could play some family golf, do the Eco Tours and I could have a facial in the Mokara Spa.

First thing we do after check in; HIT THE FIVE POOLS on site! A private cabana awaits us with complimentary Aqua Panna water, sodas, a tropical fruit plate and two cushioned lounge chairs (with ceiling fan and screen tv in case you need to take some time to relish in the serenity of a private cabana). The 850-foot Lazy River winds you around water cannons and waterfalls. Hopping on a tube or just walking the river makes for an inviting exhibition and tons of laughs. The Wave Pool is exhilarating and has a DJ nearby playing the tunes to keep the party going all day. The Kids Pool has zero entry and three small slides that is just the right speed for kids 10 and under. We completed our day with a relaxing soak in the whirlpool before changing for dinner and for an exciting evening ahead.
If you are a person who likes to try authentic Chinese cuisine - the $10 bowl full of SINGAPORE NOODLES with fried egg and scallions does the trick. The most dreamy one bite sashimi sensation of the night for me: HAMACHI CRUDO with lemongrass, sesame seed oil and jalapeño!
After enjoying a free family movie with my son, we were pleasantly suprised by a cheese plate and a bottle of Ruffino Moscato waiting for us in our executive guest room. What a night cap to an extraordinary day, and we haven't even left the resort yet!
